Birth & Death Records from 1867 to 20 December 1908
These records were kept by the probate court of each county. There is NO
statewide index to Ohio birth & death records prior to 20 December 1908. The
probate court records (PC) of births may contain the child's full name, the
date and place of birth, gender, "color," and parent's names.
The probate court records (PC) of deaths may contain the name of the
deceased, place of birth, age, occupation, date and place of death, cause of
death, place of residence.
