Subject: Thomas family information

I've have information that my John and Hannah Thomas family lived in the
Newton Twp. area in the 1860 and 1870 census. These census are 1860 on
page 443, family #1727 and 1870 page 87 family #53.

I don't have the actual photocopy of the census as a kind person relayed
the information to me, but it shows he was a farmer and there were two
values following, in 1860 $500. and $250 and in 1870 $1500 and $300. I
don't know if that was the value of his land and cattle or what. What I
am trying to find is if he owed that land and when it was deeded to him.

I'm trying to determine when he moved to Ohio. His two youngest
children 15 and 12 in 1860 show born in Ohio. We feel there is an older
son Jackson probably about 20 whom we are trying to locate and place
with this family. Jackson Thomas' son George (grandson to John and
Hannah Thomas) in a later census in Clermont Co. shows his father
(Jackson) was born in PA.

Would anyone have access to early land records. I have gone on line to
the Pike Co. site and didn't see any source to check on this.

The two younger children were James b. 1845 and Sarah Thomas b. 1847. I
didn't see them in any records on line either, that is in marriage or
wills, etc.

Any help would be appreciated.
