I doubt that he was a criminal, but was in need of a guardian ie alzheimers,
dementia,
severe medical problems.

Subject: William GRAY, criminal?

Hi everyone. My cousin went to the Madison Co. gen. society last Friday
and she found this in a newspaper. It was about my gg-grandfather,
William Gray. It said:

Noah Thomas has been appointed guardian of William Gray and furnished
bond in the sum of $3,000.00. Date March 17, 1899. London Enterprise
Newspaper.

William Gray was 58 years old at this time. My cousin didn't give me
any other information about this clipping she found. Would this
possibly mean that William Gray was some sort of criminal or could it
maybe mean something else? Could someone give me an idea about this.
Thanks.
