I'm looking for information on Alexander Floyd Scott. On Oct 7, 1869 he
married Jamima Liston in Vinton, Ohio. That date was in the IGI Records and
I'm
assuming it means Vinton County. Jamima Liston's mothers name was Jamima
Gray before her marriage to ? Liston. A Stuart Scott was also married in
VInton
1874 to a Sophie Booth. Alexander had 2 brothers that I know of: John and
Stuart. Alexander was a Lawyer and supposed to be a Justice of the Peace
somewhere. Family members place him from Roanoke,Va to Huntington, WV. I
know that as a point some time later he lived in Mason County, WV. He had 9
children with Jamima:
Clarence b. 1873
Flora Etta b. 1870
Uva b. 1878
Pearl (died around age 2)
Minnie May m. Ira Morrow, lived in Caledonia, Ohio b. 1883
Clarabelle
Ray
Edward
George lived in Columbus, Ohio and around Wellston
I can't find a place of birth for these children. Alexander was supposed to
have
come from Scotland. Can you help me? I'd like to come to Ohio to do some
research but I don't know where to start. I just got back form WV and
couldn't
find much on this family. Thank you.
