I have for many years been researching the family name of Lickorish.

The 1880 census for Ohio has two families.

Job Lickorish Bn 1828, 51 years a farmer, with wife Sarah Lickorish nee Howlette 51 years both born UK.
Children as follows,
Maria 24 years Bn UK a school teacher, Sarah 20 yrs Bn Ohio keeping house, Joshua 18 yrs Bn Ohio farm Labourer,
Elizabeth 16 Bn Ohio keeping house, Thomas 16 yrs Bn Ohio farm labourer, Alice 12 yrs Bn Ohio attending school.
They had one further child James Bn 1853 UK who travelled with them but not mentioned on census.
>From the dates of birth of the children it would appear that they travelled to Ohio between 1856 and 1860

The other family is that of a Thomas Lickorish Bn 1835 UK, being the younger step brother of Job.Job's mother died in child birth
in 1831 and his father remarried. Thier father Richard died in 1841. Unfortunately I have mislaid the information
on Thomas but from memory he was married with a family. He worked in the oil fields.

I have found a marriage which I believe to be Thomas marrying Mary A Elger 8th December 1876 at Cuyahoga, Ohio.
Another marriage is that of Elizabeth Lickorish to Clarence Wilford Dawson on 18th May 1887 again at Cuyahoga, Ohio.

The only other references to the family are from the SSDI as follows
Anna Lickorish Bn 21 Jul 1884 Death 12 jan 1968 Last residence 44026 Chesterland, Geauga, OH burried at Munson Cemetery.
John Lickorish Bn 28 Ssept 1917 Death 24 Oct 1991 no other details.

Any suggestions, pointers, help, etc with further research would be appreciated.

TIA, Philip Lickorish, Chichester, Sussex, UK.
