I have a big problem with conflicting information with some names and I
am hoping someone can help me. I have a Joseph Hughes some say was born
in old Virginia or West Virginia around 1776-77 and some say he came
from PA but he died around 1823-24 in Coshocton County, Ohio.
Joseph Hughes was married to Lear Henderson, but I also have a James
Hughes married to a Lear Henderson. I have seen both names in some of
my records that I have.
Lear Henderson Hughes parents were William Henderson and Nancy Milburn
from Maryland. Both William and Nancy are buried in the Old Goshen
Cemetery, Perry TWP, Belmont County, Ohio.
My Great Great Grandfather was Hiram Hughes married to Mary McVickers.
Supposedly Hiram parents were Joseph Hughes and Lear Hughes, could be
James? Hiram's first born son was named James and the second born was
Jesse.
I am also trying to find out if my Hughes's were related to Elias
Hughes, the Indian Fighter, who settled in Utica, Licking County, Ohio.
Is there anyone out there that could help me.
