Looking for my great grandfather Lee Anderson Arthur. As the story goes he ran away from home at a young age because his father was so mean and took on the Arthur name. b.12Nov1863 or 1864. I am starting to think the folklore is true. I have found him in WV from 1880 on up I am having trouble finding him from 1870. I was just going over a census record of his first born son(which I have been trying to find also), and it states that he is from Ohio(Lee). This is my first strong lead in 5 years so I am hoping maybe he ran away from Ohio to WV. In 1870 he would be from the ages of 6-8(most likely abt. 7 years old)depending on when it was taken. So I am hoping that I can find him that way. Please let me know if you can help or need more information. You can e-mail me personally if you would like. I have no idea where to start in Ohio, so any suggestions would be great!!!
