Good question, Cornelious! Hahaha... Tecumseh would probably get a kick out of this on a certain level ;-) I just got an e-mail from some people who live in Illinois and they think the statue belongs in Illinois because Tecumseh was known to have been there on at least one occasion. I about fell outta my chair laughing at that one! Oh, he was a good man as even the people of his day knew. Many white families named a son in honor of him back then. It is interesting to think about what they talked about. It was probably things having to do with the necessities of life, such as food, clothing and shelter for the Indians and the peaceable settlers. Tecumseh tried to avoid war at all costs, despite all the embellished writings that have transpired since his death. He was well-liked by all who knew him, and was downright famous in his time for his wonderful sense of humor. I can about imagine what he would suggest as a rendering of himself. Haha! He was a man of the people and he!
belongs with his family and friends here in Ohio :-)
