The three brothers, Elias, Thomas H.(Harmon) and John E. Crampton seen on Civil War era maps of Crampton's Gap were the children of Elias Crampton and Mary Clopper. Elias Crampton and Mary Clopper aslo had a daughter Elizabeth Crampton (1803-1887) wife of Samuel Rohrer(1785-1829). Elias(1761-1825) was a son of Thomas Crampton(1735-1819) and Ann Mary Maria Patrick(1739-1825) of Gapland, Washington Co., MD.
Elisha Crampton(1797-1876) was a son of Joshua Crampton of Gapland, MD(s/o of the Thomas Crampton(1735-1819). His wife's name is unknown. Joshua Crampton's children were listed in the will of Thomas Crampton(1735-1819) and in court record following Thomas Crampton's death.
