I am searching for my Great Grandfather's Family. His name was William Francis Ling born 1847 in Ohio. He stated that his family was from Germany. He ran away from home ata very young age. His trade was in iron He started building wagon wheels. I located him in Kingston tn. 1870 He was 22years old. Kingston was a large iron production in the Civil war, also was on the Union side of the wat (in the south). He later moced into virginia& worked for W. M. Ritter Lumber co, in their shop working with iron.Any help would be wonderful all we have on his parents is that his mothers last was Lane (or Maybe Layne).
