I am seeking information on Margaret Major and Cornelius West who were
listed on the 1850 census of Adams Township, Washington County.

Margaret Major was born in Maryland c. 1806, a daughter of Thomas Major
and Mary Harding, and moved to Belmont County with her parents by 1813.
On 18 March 1824 she married Caleb M. Rood who died shortly thereafter.
On 20 December 1827 Margaret married Cornelius West who was born c. 1806
in Ohio. Cornelius West appears on the 1830 and 1840 census of Belmont
County. By 1850 they were in Washington County and I have not found
them on any records later than that.

Margaret and Cornelius had at least six children: Thomas, c. 1838;
John, c. 1840; May I., c. 1841; Perley, c. 1843; Robert, c. 1845, and
George, c. 1848.

I would appreciate hearing from anyone who might be able to shed some
light on this family.
