Hi Linda,
Thank you for thinking of me and sending this!!!!! This is my Joseph Powell
who married a lady whose first name and married name are unknown except for
her maiden name Limeson. He married this lady after the death of his first
wife Mary Brook Powell who died in 1855 and is buried at the Feeney Cemetery.
It would appear Joseph owned the Feeney Cemetery property at one time and
then James Powell bought it a couple of months after Joseph sold it. We think
James Powell is James Monroe Powell who was the son of Joshua and Elizabeth
Piatt Powell. Also there seems to be a connection between the John and Elinor
Joy family and the Hinds family.

The Joys are witnesses on Powell deed records, next door neighbors to my
Powells in Washington County, Ohio, Wood County and Pleasants County, (West)
Virginia. Also my Daniel Powell performed the weddings of a couple of Joy
children. The Hinds family also appears as witnesses on deed records and Mary
Hinds who married Conrad Coon a wedding also performed by Daniel Powell in
Wood county was living with my Powells in the 1850 Wood County census. These
relationships could be coincidental but I don't think so. I think somehow
they are related. I have lost two of Joseph's sons in 1860. If you run across
them I would greatly appreciate the information. They are:

5.3. Richard3 POWELL(Joseph2, Richard1 Powel) was born about 1810 in Ohio
(probably Belmont County). He married Elizabeth (?) before 1833. Elizabeth
was born about 1812 in Virginia. Richard came to Wood County, (West)
Virginia sometime between 1833 and 1840.

4. Wood County, (West) Virginia 1850 Census:
#558
Richard Powell 40 Ohio
Elizabeth 38 Virginia
John 17 Ohio
Alexander 7 Virginia
William 4 Virginia
R. D. Hinds 12 Virginia

5.6. James3 POWELL(Joseph2, Richard1 Powel) was born about 1814 in Ohio
(probably Belmont County). He married Delana (?) about 1839. Delana was
born about 1824 in Ohio. James and Delana came to Wood County, (West)
Virginia sometime between 1846 and 1847.

1. Wood County, (West) Virginia 1850 census
#439
Conrad Coon 60 Virginia
Anthony Coon 21 Ohio
George W. Coon 11 Virginia
Elizabeth Coon 14 Ohio
Sarah Coon 06 Ohio
#440
James Powel 36 Ohio
Delana Powel 26 Ohio
John Powel 10 Ohio
Joseph Powel 08 Ohio
James Powel 04 Ohio
Sarah Powel 03 Virginia
Thomas Powel 01 Virginia
Mary Hinds 40 Virginia
#441
John Joy 50 Virginia
Elenor Joy 47 Virginia
Joseph Joy 22 Ohio
Daniel Joy 20 Ohio
Nancy Joy 16 Ohio
Mary Joy 14 Ohio
Hannah Joy 11 Ohio
Abijah Joy 05 Ohio

Also do you happen to know if there is a page missing in the Pleasants
County, 1870 Census? There are families who are there in 1860 and 1880 but
all missing in 1870. They include the families of Nutter Malone, James
Williams, James Monroe Powell, and William Malone. There maybe others. Also
gone missing are William Joy, John and Elinor Joy and my Joseph Powell.
Joseph died in Pleasants County in 1875 so he should be in the 1870 census.
So many families are missing I wonder if there is a missing page. All these
families would have lived in the Willow Island District.

I'm beginning to develope quit a lot of information on our Powell family.
Thank you so much for this information!!!!!

Charlotte
