I have not gotten down to reseaching the Stackhouse line of my
husbands family so I have no real infromation to give you. I have a Hannah
Stackhouse not sure who her father but think it was Isaac Stackhouse she
married George Miller in 1809 in Belmount county Ohio his 2nd wife. They
moved to the Guersey/ Monroe county line of which later became Monroe County.
Along with the Miller and other family were a line of Stackhouses. A Jacob
and Isaac Stackhouse among others George Miller tesified for a Issac
Stackhouse on his pension app. in Monroe County. I can't say for sure but I
think your Job Stackhouse is a part of that family line. I also have George
Gebhart who married a Sarah Shadwell in Belmont County and later moved to
Monroe County. I haven't gotten to far on that line either. The Stackhouse
were in Seneca and Union Twp of Monroe in 1820 and 1830 they were in Elk Twp
in 1840 and Elk twp became part of Noble County abt 1850. The family lines
spread into Washington County. and some even went to Plesants county WVa.
George Miller was born abt 1760 in Md, move at about the age of 5 to
Washington Co Pa from there he went to Moundsville WVa and by 1799 was in
Jefferson Co Ohio and spent a short time in Belmount County Ohio before
moving the the Guersey/Monroe county line. Many of his childern born between
1790 and 1830 ended up in Washington County. Grandview, Ludlow Twps. It seem
that from about 1790 to 1800 there lines moved together. My husband was born
in New Matamoras, Ohio and moved at age 7. I hope this helps some, and
sorry I don't have more for you.
I did some quick reseach from the books I have here and this is what I found.
