Debbie:

In the old newspaper obituaries, have you run across a
Joseph Chapman, died September 12, 1906 in Washington
County? I have all the probate papers, but I need
family info. I believe he lived in what was at one
time called Independence Township (Wade post office?).
I've been trying desperately to locate documentation
to tie him to a Brooke County Chapman family, but so
far have only 'circumstantial' evidence. Long
distance research (from California) is frustrating.
