We that is me and our friends are well as far as I no I hav been to
work in the harvest fiel for som two or three weaks there is some grass to
cut yet but I am tierd of that sort of fun I think that we wil go to work
in wood next I received both of you letters all strate but you must excuse
me for not writing for I did not gest take time to do it I got Uncle Heman
to write then I thot I was clear but I cant get around it ...so you must put
up with but little this time I wil try to get Uncle to help me this time to
morrow is my birth day so the Almanac says I went last nite to see the Old
Doctors Cook I found her in good spirits and glad to se me and shure I was
glad to see her Jo

John and Nicholas has gone upto in town and I thought it would be a good
chance to put in a fiew words and I wil state that the colera is petty bad
in Quincy Sarah has had a second attact of the Disese but is some better
but not intierly out of danger yet Elisha got a letter from George and he
states that Heman Dies with the colera last April George and family is well
and he talks of coming to see us next spring I have wrote to him since wee
got his letter
wee are all well except Elida and she has got so that she can go about the
house now I will quit for it is gitting duskish and John will be back soon
then he will finish I will just remark that the Dr Cook sent Aunt Elida and
cousin Pamelia & Jane some ripe apples the first that wee have had I had
like to forget to tell that Nicholas was maried last May to Nancy Numan she
use to Cook for the same Doctor they have lived with us even since for want
of houses So you see that we are pretty think and it stands us in hand to
bee good nater -
red no news from Doras or Mary since my last give my respects to all
inquiring friends especially to Father your in haste

Wal I got back and looked over what Uncle Heman wrote and glad that he wrote
as mutch as he did for I don't no what to write. Wal you no that he wrote
that N P C is maried Wal I hant now I cant say when I wil be but I expect
to come home first and then I wil tell you al about it I expect to start
home for a visit in october wal as I was out last nite I shal hav to come
to a close I send my love to all inquiring friends yours L
