I've "rescued" an old photograph of George & Ida ICKES and Family which was
taken at the N.W. Low Studio in Bowling Green, Ohio. The photograph
includes the couple with 6 children ranging in age from infant to teens.
Can't tell the gender of the infant but the others are 2 girls and 3 boys.
In addition to the names of the father and mother someone has written "Gram
ADARE's brother" below the photograph and on the back as well.
Based on limited research and the assistance of an ICKES Family researcher I
know that George William ICKES b. 19 March 1857 married Ida L. KERBY or
CORBY on 21 Sept 1874 in Sandusky Co. OH and that one of their daughters,
Pearl Eva ICKES b. 1886 married William LEGGETT. George & Ida were included
in the 1880 census living in Clyde, Ohio with two children, Mary age 4, and
John age 2, both born in Ohio.
The 1880 census notes that George was 24 years old, born in Ohio to parents
both born in PA. Ida was 19 years old, born in Indiana, as were both of her
parents. I'm hoping to find someone from this family so that this wonderful
old photograph can be returned to family. If you are a member of this
family or know someone who might be, please contact me.
Thanks,
Shelley
