In Old Woods County Directory there is a John A. Bowman,
Homestead Entry #6033 for the NW 1/4 15-23-12.
This section is located one west & two south of the city of Aline, OK. On the adjoining farm is Stephen R. Bowman,
Homestead Entry #6035 for the SW 1/4 15-23-12. Both entries were filed Sept. 24, 1894.

There is another John Bowman, Entry #3994 for NE 28-28-14
and NW 28-28-14. This land would be in present day Woods County, OK.

You may already have this info but thought I'd try to help.
