THE ELK CITY NEWS-Wednesday,May 26,1999 Funeral services for Glen DALTON
will be conducted Friday at 10:00 a.m.from the First Baptist Church of
Elk City with Doc WARE and Alan Runge officiating,Burial will follow in
the Carter Cemetery under the direction of Martin Funeral Home.Glen DALTON
was born September 1,1913 in Carter,Ok.to Leonadous Hannibal DALTON and
Cora (ROGERS)DALTON and died Sunday at the age of 85.He was married to
Billie B.Anderson in December 1932.Glen's working career consisted of farming
and ranching in the Carter area,a railroad engineer in Gallup,New Mexico,carpenter
work in Colton,California,a building contractor in the southern California
area and in Real Estate agent in Elk City.Glen was a member of the First
Baptist Church where he also served as a Deacon.Also a long time member
of the Rotary Club and the Masonic Lodge.He was preceded in death by his
wife;his parents,and one brother ,LeRoy DALTON. Survivors include four
children,Glenda Sue SMITH of Ventura,California,Lonnie Gene DALTON of Pinehurst,North
Carolina,Bill W. DALTON of Lawton and Sherry Lyn DALTON of Monroe,Washington;ten
grandchildren;sixteen great grandchildren;two sisters,Madalyn(Johnson)Davis
of Elk City and Alene Barnett of Mangum;two brothers,Loyce DALTON of Farmington,New
Mexico,and Cecil DALTON of Pampa,Texas . Memorials may be made in Glen's
name to the American Heart Association or the Charity of your choice.
