Subject: [OKCOMANC-L] William Vannoy Wallace death in Lawton
Date: Sun, 20 Apr 2003 19:26:21 -0500
I would like to know where William Vannoy Wallace is buried.
He took sick down town in Lawton, and they took him home in a buggy and
he soon died, December 24, 1905.
If anyone has access to newspaper for that time period, I would like any
bit of information that might have been published in the newspaper.
Also the grave marker information and what Cemetery he is buried in.
He was married to 16 year old Charity Jane Farrington in 1892, and they
had two children: a son, Beverly Powell Wallace and a daughter, Ina Belle
Wallace, born November 30, 1896 in Oklahoma City, and when she was 5
years old they moved to Lawton, when it was a new town.
Charity Jane re-married in 1908 to T.F. "Ted" Lenhart, they went just
across the border into Texas to be married.
I would like to know the date and place of their marriage.
Ted Lenhart worked for a funeral home as an embalmer.
His wife had died and left small children, one an infant. Mr. Lenhart
hired Charity Jane to take care of the baby on a train trip to Ohio to
take the children to their mother's family.
In a few years they were married.
Charity had a brother, Albert Farrington who had a business in Lawton,
perhaps a bar. I would like any information about him and his family.
Thanks.
