We have very little info. J. M. Carter, James Polk Carter (1876-1928), M.
F. Carter, and W. Leon Carter (1904-1919) are buried in the same plot. J. M
and M. F. have no dates. Dewey County was not opened until 1892. At that
time Taloga, the county seat, was established. Certainly there were no
newspapers nor any records from this area prior to that time. I do not
think there would be a record at the Bureau of Vital Statistics in Oklahoma
City. I say that because my dad was born in 1903 in Taloga and there is no
record of his birth there.
