Hi, all,
I live in Virginia and am planning my first ever trip to research my
father's family in Oklahoma this coming Christmas break. I have rumored
Native American roots, but have been unable to prove it. I am aware of the
State Archives in OK City, and the Historical Society, as well as
courthouse research in Caddo, Comanche, Canadian, Grady, and Cleveland
counties. What I need to find out is this: are there any lesser known, but
valuable libraries/archives to visit? Also, any recommendation of where to
stay (inexpensively) in that general vicinity would be helpful. Thanks in
advance for any help!
