Beautiful country that Greater San Joaquin Valley, California, one of
these days I will learn to spell it again, been away 38 years.

My name is Lois Feldman Coffelt, I am 62 years old, live in Englewood,
FL on the beautiful gulf coast with my husband John, he is 81 and our
little pound poodle Nikki Poo who is older than I am or even John for
that matter.

I have been doing genealogy via snail mail off an on since about 1990,
can't get far doing snail mail. I can consider myself very fortunate as
I found a man that had been working on my Timken family for close to 20
years, driving to peoples home and taking notes and getting data, going
to cemeteries,( boo the lady in the white dress with the long black
flowing hair, would have scared my britches off had it been me) taking
pictures of tombstones for his book. He had already put a book out on
the Timken's, I was fortunate enough that I bought his last book. He
only had 74 descendants for Cord & Anna (Nee Gerken) Timken and was
mighty glad to hear from me. I started my research, doing the snail
mail bit and anxiously waiting for replies. Well before he died I sent
him almost 300 names on my great grandparents. Those plus his were
submitted to the LDS Church, he donated the two bound books, one book
had Fickens and Timken's both in it.
They microfilmed the books that they paid him $40.00 a piece for and
sent the books back to him along with the the leather bound books he had
donated, said they didn't have room to keep the books. Good People.

Now I have between 400 and 500 on just my great grandparents, and
together Leonard and I have almost 2500 people in the Timken line.

Sorry I guess I forgot the introduction and got carried away with
genealogy.

We have 2 children each, 8 grandchildren, and one great grandson that
was born last March. The only problem is they are all in Michigan,
Lenawee County and one my son in Jackson County. We left the cold
country for Florida because of my husband's health, so here we are in
sunny Florida.

I was born in Crescent, Logan County, OK, my family left there in 1938
when I was two years old for CA. and my husband was born in Comfort,
Marion County, TN. John left TN when he was 15 or 16 for Michigan and
lived there till we moved to FL. in 1974.

Nuff Said, Just glad to be a part of this wonderful group of people,
like I have said before my extended family.
