Daughter: Mary Wilson was born May 14, 1866 in Topeka, Kansas and died
January 27, 1927 in FOSS, OKLAHOMA.

in the article? OR any COONTZ or WILSON for that matter.

PHILLIPS, Oliver Elias Oct. 19, 1915 Saturday morning
Oliver Elias PHILLIPS, formerly of Holdenville , passed away early
Saturday morning at the Stillwater Medical Center at the age of 83 years.
Oliver was born October 19, 1915 near Lyons, Kansas to Matilda (COONTZ) and
Oliver PHILLIPS, Sr. He was reared in the Lyons and Hutchinson, Kansas
areas. He joined the Navy on August 4, 1943 during WWII and served aboard
the U.S.S. Howard E. Holbroke Battleship in the Pacific Theater. He was
honorably discharged on November 13, 1945. Oliver married Mary Ellen
SANDERS in July 19, 1948 in Crawford County, Arkansas and she preceded him
in death February 29, 1996 after 47 years of marriage. The made their home
in Holdenville where Oliver worked for many years in the oilfield. After
his retirement he later worked as a custodian at Thomas Elementary School,
due to his health in May of 1998, Oliver moved to rural Orlando, Oklahoma
to be near his daughter. He was a member of the First Baptist Church and an
avid fisherman.
He is survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Martha and Lee MCMORRIES
IV of Orlando, Ok; one son, Kenneth PHILLIPS of Tishomingo, Ok; three
grandchildren, Emily MCMORRIES of Orlando, Ok; Lee MCMORRIES V of Orlando,
Ok; Kenneth Dillion PHILLIPS of Ada, Ok; one sister, Iola MURPY of
Syracuse, New York; several nieces, nephews other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and four sisters.
Funeral services will be Wednesday, May 19, 1999 at 10:30 A.M. in the
First Baptist Church of Holdenville with Rev. Earl STEPHENSON officiating.
Interment will be in the Holdenville Cemetery under the directions of
Hudson-Phillips Funeral Home.
