I am quite new to genealogy research and could use as much help as I can get.

My mother's family hails from OK. The names I am looking for are Brassfield, Workman, Rearick, Hollingback and Denton. A few more in between.

Does anyone know much about the Indian History in OK? My Grandmother always said that her father William Riley Brassfield was a full blooded Cherokee Indian but I am having a very difficult time finding evidence of that. He was born in 1870 and lived in Choctaw country for many years. All of his children were born in that area. I would love to know the history of that time and area and also if anyone is familiar with these names.

Am I asking to much?
