Would be nice to have a cable hookup.

Would rather have a DSL connection better though.

Immediately do a web search for "Black Ice Defender" [ have to pay for it ]
or "Zone Alarm" [ Free ] and download and install. With a cable modem
everyone on your cable is connected directly to your computer. They have
access whenever its turned on. Those two programs are what are called
firewalls. They will let you "out" but keep others from getting "in". Like
putting deadbolt locks on your doors.
