Subject: [OKGEN ] Census slip throughs

Hello. I posed this question to Tsana and she suggested that I post it to
the list. Does anyone know if African-Americans were included in the 1910
Oklahoma census? My grandparents, maternal James Hoover and Mary Bennett,
moved to Okmulgee in 1909 after moving from Natchitoches, LA and I have
reason to believe that for personal reasons they would not have participated
in a census. I hope this is not so but it is a possibility.
My mother's father James P. Hoover, was born in Haiti, in 1876. My dad's
father Henry Williams is said to be from Santo Domingo and settled in
Hartshorne, OK. All of this equals African-American, hence my question.
I will be thankful for any information and also thanks to Tsana for her help,
Sylvia Jean Williams-Reed
