Part of Enid had their electricity restored today but many are still without any power. My step-dad lives on the east side and even his outside meter froze and fell off. His backyard is full of tree limbs from the backyard tree. I'm told that Enid looks like a war zone. Ice has caused many tree limbs to fall and I'm told that even light poles have bent or fallen from the ice weight.
Fairview, 42 miles SW of Enid, were fortunate that their electricity was restored so quickly on Thursday evening. It had been predicted that it would not be possible until weekend. There was also a warning that there may be no water either. Today the sun was out but I could hear the ice as it continued to fall from the trees and the house.
Okeene, 20 miles from Fairview, are still without power.
