WRONG WRONG WRONG WRONG.
Just because you can not find your ancestor's on Dawes or any other Roll
does not mean that "you are not Legally Indian". Not finding your ancestor's
on the Dawes or Baker or any Roll just means that your ancestors chose not
to be counted by the Government. It also makes it harder for you to become a
Tribal Member of the Cherokee Nation (Okla) or the Eastern Band of Cherokee
(if they aren't found on the Baker Roll) (In N.C)

You might have full blood Indian Heritage, but you will most likely not
ever be legally a Cherokee.

You will most likely not ever be able to REGISTER with the Cherokee Nation
or the Eastern Band of Cherokee w/o your ancestor's being on the proper
rolls for each Tribe.
