Angela,
I don't know if anyone has suggested this but, try a wedding store or
someone that preserves wedding dresses? I had mine professionally cleaned and
sealed in a box with a special window that is air tight. I can still see in
and it saves the item for years and years (long after I am gone, I am sure!).
It did cost $80. But there is no price on preservation of something that can
never be replaced... Can't bring ancestors back but we sure can preserve their
memories.
Good Luck... Marcy
I was wondering if anyone could give me any advise on how to conserve a few
things
One is my fathers Christening gown and bonnet they are 80 years old and in
very delicate shape, the others are my Grandfathers Masonic Fez, and two
other
beenie type caps and aprons that would be over 110 years old
The professional conservators want 75 dollars just to look at each item and
I don't have that kind money but would very much like to save this things
maybe in a shadow box frame.
If anyone has any ideas I would love to hear them
Thanks
Angela
