Robin,
I have a picture postcard circa Jan 1912 of the Witteville Coal Mine, Poteau
OK. I don't know where this mine was located in Poteau but it is a picture
of the entrance of the mine with about 50 men standing at the foot of the
tracks and at the entrance of the mine. If you would like a picture of the
mine, I will scan and send.

It was close to where the WalMart is now, but back towards the center of
town? It wasn't a major mine, just a small one. I know there were small
mines all over the place, and may have been more than one in that area.
