Services for Wilson M. Meek, 83, of Houston, Texas, were held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, July 3, at Woodlawn Funeral Home Chapel in Houston, with the Rev. J.D. Andrews officiating.

Mr. Meek was born January 8, 1918, in Memphis, Tennessee,
the son of Isaac M. Meek and Vinnie Johnson Meek. He died Saturday, June 30, 2001, in Northwest Memorial Hospital in Houston.

The Meek family moved to Love County around 1920. Mr. Meek graduated from Burneyville High School in 1935 and Southeastern Oklahoma University in 1939. He had lived in Houston for many years and was a member of Airline Manor Baptist Church for 35 years.

Survivors include his son and daughter-in-law, Randy and Donna Meek of Houston; two granddaughters, Teresa of Houston and Carol of Tulsa; a sister, Jacqueline Shelton of Dallas; and many other relatives and friends.

Mr. Meek was preceded in death by his wife, Billie; his parents; and his brother, J.D. Meek.

Interment was in Woodlawn Garden of Memories of Houston.
