Services for Hamilton C. "Hap" Rackley were Wednesday at 10:30 a.m. in the Burneyville Baptist Church with Bishop George Bland and Bay Ladner officiating.
Mr. Rackley was born October 25, 1921, at Burneyville, the son of Frank and Alma Tankerley Rackley, and died March 15, 1992, in the Memorial Hospital of Southern Oklahoma, Ardmore.
Mr. Rackley had lived in Love County since 1982, moving here from California. He was retired from the Palos Verdes Irrigation District in California. A veteran of World War II, Mr. Rackley served in the Navy. He married Jessie Brewer February 1, 1945, in Jimtown. Mr. Rackley was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and the American Legion in Marietta.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Jessie Rackley of the home at Burneyville; four daughters, Lorraine Knabb of Vass, North Carolina, Carolyn Keller of Eastman, Jackie Rodriquez of Blythe, California, and Patricia Lynn Terranova of Alameda, California; a brother, Buford Rackley of Eastman; and two sisters, Juanita Holland of Burneyville and Jean Corcimiglia of Las Vegas, Nevada; six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Interment was in the Burneyville Cemetery under the direction of the Anderson-Kennedy Funeral Home. Serving as pallbearers were John Dee Knabb, Mark Rackley, Phil Rackley, Gayle Rackley, Darrell Holland, and Rick Mitchel. Honorary pallbearers were Virgil Walker, Butch Sykora, Eldridge Colston, G.W. Hicks, Homer Koch, and Frank Barrick.
