Services for Lee Rhoades, 60, were Sunday at 2:00 p.m. in the Grand Avenue Baptist Church, Gainesville, Texas. Officiating were Elder Marion Roberts, Baptist Minister; Dr. Lawrence Burks, pastor of the Grand Avenue Baptist Church; and the Rev. Tony Norman of Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Collinsville, Texas.
Mr. Rhoades was born August 24, 1936, at Burneyville, and died May 28, 1997, in the Gainesville Memorial Hospital. He was the son of Frank and Opal Baker Rhoades.
On November 7, 1959, he married Patsy Roberts in Gainesville. Mr. Rhoades was the supervisor of Parks and Recreation for the City of Gainesville for 10 years. He was an avid fisherman and coon hunter. Mr. Rhoades was of the Baptist faith.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Pat Rhoades of Gainesville; his mother, Opal Rhoades of Burneyville; a son, Randy Lee Rhoades of Gainesville; three daughters, Pam Hollandsworth of Callisburg, Texas, Polly Boone of Gainesville, and Patty Pierce of Era, Texas; a brother, Gene Rhoades of Burneyville; four sisters, Mildred Williams of Gainesville, Jo McCurley of Burneyville, Elaine Keeler of Dumas, Texas, and twin sister, Evelyn West of Callisburg.
Mr. Rhoades was preceded in death by his father, Frank Rhoades in 1981.
Interment was in Fairview Cemetery directed by Clement-Keel Funeral Home of Gainesville. Serving as pallbearers were Carol Ledbetter, Paul Hallum, Allan Stanley, Edward Shinpaugh, Don Bone, Wesley Smith and Rufus Idell.

This obituary included a picture of Mr. Rhoades.
