Services for Albert T. Washington were conducted Saturday at 10:00 a.m. in the Anderson-Kennedy Chapel. Officiating was Rev. Tim Emmons, minister of the Eastside Baptist Church.
Born January 19, 1905, in Leon, Mr. Washington died March 24, 1994, in the Love County Health Center, Marietta, at the age of 89. He was the son of Bill and Florence Turner Washington.
A resident of Leon most of his life, Mr. Washington was a farmer and a veteran of World War II, serving in the Army. He was a Baptist by faith and read the Bible devotedly. Mr. Washington also enjoyed playing the fiddle.
Survivors include several nieces and nephews.
Mr. Washington was preceded in death by nine brothers and sisters.
Services were directed by the Anderson-Kennedy Funeral Home with interment in the Leon Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers were Boog Taliaferro, Son Taliaferro, Pat Parker, Mike Parker, Clint Lyons and Larry Graham.
