Donna Lynn Gaines graduated from Oklahoma University College of Dentistry on June 1 with the degree of Doctor of Dental Surgery.

Mrs. Gaines was valedictorian of her 1987 graduating class from Thackerville High School and is a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Clifford Boatright, formerly of Thackerville. Graduating with Distinction from Oklahoma University in 1991, she received a Bachelor of Science in Education degree.

During her four years of Dental School, Mrs. Gaines was a Student Council member for one year, Student liaison of Clinic Operations three years, and a CPR instructor for three years. In her senior year, she was a student teacher to freshman and sophomore dental students in the areas of Pedodontics and Periodontics. Mrs. Gaines also was a participant in the Pedodontics Honors Program. At graduation ceremonies she was awarded "The American Academy of Periodontology Award" for outstanding achievement in Periodontics.

Mrs. Gaines and her husband Patrick reside in Norman where she will work in private practice and return as part-time faculty at the OU College of Dentistry.
