Services for Daniel Vernon Liddell, Jr., 76, were Tuesday at 10:00 a.m. in the Stone-Goodwin Funeral Home, Gladewater, Texas, with the Rev. Clayton Gilpin officiating.

Born August 2, 1916, in Marietta, Mr. Liddell died March 21, 1993. He was of Chickasaw heritage and the son of Daniel Vernon and Minnie Keel Liddell.

A resident of Gladewater since 1945, Mr. Liddell earned a degree in education from Oklahoma A & M University, now Oklahoma State University. He was a teacher and administrator in the Oklahoma schools. Mr. Liddell was a Navy veteran of World War II, a past president of the Gladewater Kiwanis Club, and a member of the First United Methodist Church where he served on the Administrative Board.

Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Vera Liddell; a daughter, Margaret Liddell Pevehouse of Dallas, Texas; two sons, Daniel Vernon Liddell III of Seattle, Washington and Iverson Keel Liddell of Gladewater; two grandchildren, Marvin D. Pevehouse II of Dallas and Amanda J. Liddell of Gladewater; four sisters, Emma C. Dean of Marietta, Jane Pipins of Parker Dam, California, Jeanne Cochran of Houston, Texas, and Betty Galloway of Marietta; four brothers, John C. Liddell of Brownfield, Texas, Billy D. Liddell of Marietta, Iverson K. Liddell of Gladewater, and Marvin Liddell of Ardmore; and a number of nieces and nephews.

Mr. Liddell was preceded in death by a sister, Dorothy Sanders, and a brother, Richard Liddell.

Services were under the direction of the Stone-Goodwin Funeral Home of Gladewater with interment in Gladewater Memorial Park.
