Brock Anthony Thurman, a 2002 graduate of Marietta High School, has accepted an Oklahoma State University 2002 Veledictorian Scholarship.

Since the Class of 1993, all Oklahoma High school valedictorians have been eligible to receive $1,500 per year for four years to attend OSU.

Thurman is the son of Dennis and Marilyn Thurman of Marietta, and he plans to major in geology and chemistry.

He is an OUS Boone Pickens Scholar and has received a John T. Liebrand Memorial Scholarship.

Thurman is a member of the National Honor Society, is an All-American Scholar, and is listed in "Who's Who Among American High School Students."

The high school principal or superintendent must certify that as a result of a student's academic performance, the student has been designated as valedictorian for the high school class in order to be eligible for this prestigious scholarship.

More than 1,100 Oklahoma high school valedictorians attend OSU in Stillwater.
