JOHN HIGHFILL
The funeral for John Marshall HIGHFILL, 88, was July 22, 2006, at First Baptist Church, Cherokee, OK.
Burial was in the Cherokee Municipal Cemetery. Arrangements by Lanman Funeral Home, Inc., Cherokee.
He was born Oct. 22, 1917, to Alfred Bennett & Dora Irene NICHOLS HIGHFILL & died July 16, 206 in Fairview.
He graduated from Lambert High School in 1935 & served in Civilian Conservation Corps Camp in California prior to his marriage to Evelyn Lavina CLARK in 1939. They made their home on the family farm & in 1964 moved to the origianl farm site near Lambert. She died in 2000.
Surviving are 2 daughters, Linda LOVELADY of Ringwood & Carol PIERSON of Houston; 4 grandchildren; & 6 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Evelyn, 3 sisters & a granddaughter.
