Hi,
I have Pierce, Bayliss, and Beauchamp relatives from the Broken Bow area. I
was wondering if anyone has any knowledge or newspaper clippings of a murder
that happened there back in about 1931. Ben Beauchamp was convicted of
murdering someone - I can't remember his name, but it was something like
squirrely. What really happened, according to family story, is that the
Squirrley guy beat John up so badly that he almost died. (John did have a
limp all through life) One of the older Beauchamp went and killed Sq. for
revenge, and then framed his baby brother Ben for it.
Any articles of tidbits of information about the Beauchamps (Charlie,
Marion, Tom, John, Bud, Jesse, Navada, Maudie, Ben), Pierces (Sam, Bonnie,
etc.), or Baylisses (Navada and her children) would be welcomed.
