JOSEPH L. SMITH was born Aug. 20, 1914 at Eufaula, Ok to Tom and Sara (Carpenter) Smith, married Ima Jean Mewman on Nov. 7, 1945 at Stigler, OK and died February 13, 2002 at Stigler. Services were Feb. 16 at the Brooken Cemetery with burial under the direction of Hunn Black & Merritt Funeral Home of Eufaula.

Survivors include two sons, Lloyde Ray Smith of Holdenville, OK and Jerry Lee Smith of Sapulpa, OK; two daughters, Ima Faye McBrayer of Dumas, TX and Sharon Kay Reimer of Sioux City, IA; a sister, Ruth Moore of Whitefield, OK; seven grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two sons, Larry Wayne in 1995 and an infant son; two brothers and two sisters.
