Good Morning Everyone,

Question: Do any of you have family by the name of Cross. I have learned
recently that my grandmother, Ruby Mae Vera Clubb, was "forced" into an early
marriage prior to her marriage to my grandfather. Nothing is known about
this marriage other than the name, supposedly, was Cross. This marriage would
have been short lived. I found my grandmother on the 1930 census living in
Arkansas with her older sister. She is listed as age at first marriage "13"
wow..this was news to me. Also, she is listed as a widow. I had always been
told that she "fled" the marriage and ran to her sister. I assume that she
might have stated "widow" if she was hiding out or something. I would suspect
that this marriage may have transpired in 1928 but have no idea which County. I
do know that there were some family living in McIntosh Co. but I have found
no record to verify the marriage. If anyone does have Cross family from the
area, I have a picture that was sent to me of my grandmother and who, the
sender states, is my grandmother's first husband. I would be more than happy to
scan and email a copy to anyone who might think that this marriage or Cross
family member could be in their line. If nothing else, it might be nice to
find out, at the very least, what his first name was.
Sincere thanks,
Kevin in California.
