Johnson Rites Set For Today
HENRYETTA, July 7 - Funeral services for Jack Johnson, 63, will be held
at the Community Church, Spelter City, at 4 p.m. Sunday with the Rev. R.
B. Kelly, pastor of the Nazarene Church, officiating. Burial will be in
West Lawn cemetery by the Buchanan Funeral home.
Mr. Johnson, a smelter worker, was found dead with his throat cut at his
home, 605 West Trudgeon, late Thursday. His wife, Mrs. Ada Penrod-Johnson,
is charged with murder in connnection with his death and confined to the
county jail at Okmulgee without bond.
In addition to the wife, he is survived by five sons, Ed, with the Army
in England, Homer, serving with the Army in Belgium, Clarence, enroute
to a combat zone, Carl, on Okinawa, and Roy, of the home; three daughters,
Mrs. Dewey Nelson and Mrs. Robert Gibbs, both of Amarillo, Texas. Mrs.
C. W. Davison, Spelter City; 13 grandchildren, and one sister, Mrs. Willis
Waldrup, Broken Arrow.
