I am trying to determine if the family of a John Thomas "Tom" JONES and a Nancy E. ROBERTS was living in the are of OKMULGEE from 1870-1891. I believe they migh t have been living near the families of NITCHOLAS,LOVE, ATTERBURY, and WELCH. I believe that Nancy E. ROBERTS might be related to a Mary ROBERTS and an ELIJAH ROBERTS(born in SC). Does anyone have any records of these families living as whites in the Indian Territory? I would appreciate any help or suggestons on how to research this area. One of Tom and Nancy JONES's children is named Mary STEVENS. She is living in Waurika, Ok. in 1907. Tom and Nancy JONES have a son named Ben JONES living in Hollis, OK. in 1907. Arena JONES and Rebecca JONES are living in Texas in 1907. I would appreciate any help that you could offer.
