You mentioned Van Alstyne and Denison in Grayson County Texas and your family
name is Cartwright? Did you know there is a town called Cartwright, in Bryan
County, Oklahoma just across the Red River from Grayson County Texas? That
could be interesting.

<Mary, I am not sure if there is a connection  in our families, but my
ggfather, Asbury Cartwright came to Van Alstyne, (Van Alstyne and Denison are
both in the same county) Grayson County, Texas from Missouri, via Ten. He was
born in Difficult Ten, Dec 17, 1809. It sounds like our families have a link
some where. I have a lot information about my immediate family line but only
the names and birth dates concerning gguncles or aunts. I will be glad to
share with you if any of it will help your search.
Sincerely,
Charlotte Cartwright Smith>
