My Great-Grandfather, John W. Blankenship is buried in the cemetery south
of Antlers, Pushmataha Co., OK. I am trying to find additional information.
He died 13Nov1914. His children were placed in the orphanage ran by the
Catholic Church in Antlers. My Grandfather, James Elijah, never knew his
mother and was very young when his father died. Another sibling, a sister,
was later known to be living in Paris, Texas. I understand much of Antlers
was destroyed in 1945 by a tornado, including vital records. Is this true?
Are their birth, marriage, and death records available and accessible for
prior to 1945?
