My WRIGHT family consisted of William and wife Martha, daughters Hannah,
Margaret, Elizabeth, Mary, Sally and Jean, sons James, William, Robert,
John and Hugh. Elizabeth, Mary, Sally and Jean married in KY as did John
and Hugh. Robert and Margaret married in Berkeley County. Hannah married
a MELVIN, place unknown. Marriage information on James and William in
unknown. Robert and Margaret used the same clergy in their respective
marriages, Moses Hoge, who went on to become a prominent member of the
Presbyterian Church in VA.

In the late 1700's there was a migration of folks from the area around
Berkeley County to Bourbon County, KY. This was due to one Thomas
Swearingen of the general area around Berkeley County enticing folks to
go to KY to buy land from his military tract which he received for Rev.
War service.

BTW, my father's maternal grandmother was a WEST. Her family arrived in
the area around Shelby County, IL in the mid 1800's. I haven't started
tracing them yet so I don't have much information. There are a number of
WEST families in Shelby and Moultrie counties in IL today.
