I have what appears to be pages 40-43 of 1736-1739 Tithable List for
Orange Co, VA from Vol. I, Northern Neck.... by Joyner
I do not have a list of the abbreviations used on these pages or access
to the book and need help interpreting, i.e.;
overseer = ?
qr = ?
What do the numbers indicate? adults, cattle, horses, buildings,
slaves, women....????
P-40 has "List of Tithables in presinks of Samuel pound Constable".
Anyone know where this area is located, or know Samuel Pound or where he
resided?
Immediately following the above, is
Corl Willis 15
Maccoley, Overseer
Is this one or two persons, or is something missing??? Anyone recognize
this name or names?
Any and all help greatly appreciated.
