I found my grandmother, age 11, living with her mother in the 1880 census.
Her mother was Mary Putnam Holmes who died shortly after and her father
Joseph Holmes had already died. Both of TB. I would like to know two things:
1. I have looked for death records for both Joseph and Mary Holmes and cannot
find them. Any ideas?
2. What can anyone tell me about Back Creek?
It as my understanding they were living in Shenandoah Co. with Joseph's
father William Holmes when they died. Guess that was wrong. Sure could use
some help!
