Hello,
I was wondering if anyone on this list, had access to St.Louis obit's
from the 1860's ?
I'm looking for the obit of Johanna (nee SCHULER) JACOB, who lived in
Soulard (then known as Frenchtown) right behind St.Vincent DePaul
Catholic Church, with her daughter and son-in-law, Felix and Josephine
(nee JACOB) MAURATH. Johanna was born in Lorraine, France in 1790. She
died some time between 1860 and 1864. She came to America in 1838 alone
with her children and used her maiden name of SCHULER in all records, and
so we assume that her husband had died back in France. Her name has also
been listed as Hanna, Anna, Jeanne, Jeannette (French version of
Johanna), etc. Thanks so much, and if not found, any other suggestions
would be appreciated.
Sincerely,
John Maurath
