Pat, Bon-Ami is still around in Canada and my mother uses it at Christmas as
"paint" for drawing nativity scenes and angels on windows for shut-ins -- and at
her house, of course.
She makes up her "paint" from the powder, adding water and mixing it smooth.
I don't know if it was a suggestion by the manufacturer thirty years ago or
what.
And Bon Ami means, of course, good friend.
When it came time to remove the scenes, Mum just got a pail of water and a soft
rag and used the Bon Ami already on the windows, just smoooshed around.
At 84 she is still doing the painting part, but I think the later cleaning is up
to the other person <G>.
